On October 23rd, Housing Corporation of Arlington hosted a special financial workshop at their office on Massachusetts Avenue. Three representatives from Watertown Savings Bank made a presentation about various forms of financial literacy. They were: Kelly Cronin, Assistant Vice President and Community Relations Manager, Vicky Giannakas, Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager, and Troy Joseph, Assistant Vice President and Customer Support Manager, of Watertown Savings Bank, located in Watertown, MA.

Tenants learned about a variety of topics related to finances, ranging from setting up and managing bank accounts, budgeting strategies to save money, information about various kinds of fraud and how to prevent and deal with it when it occurs, the differences, both benefits and drawbacks between credit and debit cards, and ways to create and manage your credit to good standing.

These kinds of free financial workshops are a great way for local banks to connect to the communities they serve and are a frequent kind of event that HCA holds to benefit their tenants and increase financial literacy. HCA will be hosting their next financial workshop in April 2019. An e-mail and sign up sheet will be available soon!
